When the program is loaded, you will see a screen similar to the one above. The buttons in the main menu give a user access to the various functions available in StatPlus. For example, to save a document, run the FileSave command. Toolbars run the most frequently used StatPlus commands and procedures. The Task Pane at the right side of the window provides the user with basic functions for starting work in StatPlus and gives access to the properties of diagrams and pictures.

Entering Data

StatPlus allows the following types of data for a cell:

  • Text values (e.g. words "Total","Active")

  • Numeric values (e.g. numbers "15000","135700.77")  - please note that such a cell value
must be either a whole number or a decimal number.

  • Date and time values (e.g. "1.02.2005","12:01:33 PM")

  • Links to local files or to internet pages (e.g. "http://www.analystsoft.com","sales@analystsoft.com">

  • Graphics, diagrams, objects.

Every data type has its own properties. Run the FormatCells... command to change properties (or simply use Format... command in the worksheet context menu).

After entering information, it is necessary to save it on a disk. This both protects information and allows using it afterwards. Run the FileSave command or click the "Save" button in the Standard toolbar. If you want to change the filename, use FileSave as.....

Editing Data

In case of mistyping information, you can always change the value of a cell. You can perform the following actions with a sheet:

·         Select a range of cells

·         Clear and delete cells

·         Copying data from one cell to another

·         Insert new rows and columns

·         Fill out a range of cells
